It’s about the “kids overboard” affair.
It’s not about the lies.
And it’s not about what he knew and when he knew it.
It’s about the fact that he believed without hesitation that parents would actually throw their children into the ocean.
That he would want to believe such a thing speaks volumes about his character.
That he didn’t seek any real proof is classic lawyer behaviour. Rely on the ‘advice’ or ‘reports’ that you’ve been given. Don’t ask a question when you don’t already know the answer. Especially when the answer might be one you don’t want to hear. This is not the behaviour of a leader. It’s the behaviour of someone who thinks it is a big game and what’s important is to win the game.
It’s not a game, John. It’s about people’s lives.
